[edit] Nickname

The panther in the picture is obviously black, but "black panther" is just a popular term for any large, black cat. The meaning of panther typically differs by geography - which cat is native to the area (puma, leopard, or jaguar). The cat in the picture is much too built to be a puma, so I'm presuming it's fashioned after a jaguar or a leopard. It's a long shot, but has the cat ever been depicted differently? An animated logo or anything? Is it always black? - Slow Graffiti 17:10, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
