Andrews Bluegrass to Blues Music Festival

The Annual Bluegrass to Blues music Festival is held is Andrews, NC on the first Saturday of of June every year in downtown Andrews NC. The event is free to the public and features over 35 bands and songwriters on six stages throughout downtown Andrews. Musicians come from Ashville to Nashville and from Atlanta to Knoxville for the opportunity to share their talent in this scenic little town located in western North Carolina. Andrews is nestled in one of the areas most beautiful valleys surrounded with the Great Smoky Mountains. Andrews Chamber of Commerce president, Gail Horton, likes to say “We are at the center of everything. Atlanta, Ashville, and Chattanooga are each only two hours away.”
Regional and mountain crafters and artists line the streets with their booths where visitors will also be able to sample some good southern food including the local pan fried trout. There is no charge to any artist, crafter, or food concession but they must register either by mail, phone, or at the AMBA website. Events start at 10 am and continue well into the evening where the Mountain Music Jamboree will be performing bluegrass at the Cultural Arts building. Other stages will also be theme orientated with gospel, rock, pop, blues, and a singer-songwriter showcase now scheduled.
Visitors have the opportunity to visit the train from the Great Smoky Mountain railroad which ferrys travelers from Bryson City, NC for the festival. Arriving traffic will be directed to a central parking area where they will be provided shuttle service to the event site. Not only does the music cater to all interests but activities include all ages with wagon rides, pony rides and a kids fun center to name but a few. For folks who want to sit under a shade tree and rest a spell, the AMBA has thought of them too. The music festival was conceived to show off the town’s cultural heritage, stately 100 year old homes, variety of shops and small businesses, and the many talents of regional musicians and crafters.
