Bluetooth Collaboration

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bluetooth collaboration is a function that can be found on Wireless LAN adapters.

Bluetooth and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi operate on the same frequency. The Bluetooth collaboration function tells the Wi-Fi adapter to listen for bluetooth devices. If it finds any, it will try to prevent possible conflicts with their transmissions. Without Bluetooth Collaboration enabled, it is possible for the more powerful Wi-Fi adapter to interfere with nearby bluetooth devices. This option reduces the Wi-Fi throughput, because it pauses to look for bluetooth devices.
