Episode I (1999) |
"Blue (Da Ba Dee)" is a single by Italian group Eiffel 65. The song was released in 1999 on the album Europop. The vocals were recorded using a vocoder, hence the robotic sound of the vocals.
[edit] Song
The song refers to a blue-feeling person who owns a blue house with blue windows, a blue Corvette, has a blue girlfriend, and even wears blue clothes. The streets around him are blue, as are the people and trees. His words, thoughts and feelings are all blue. Therefore, virtually everything is blue in his life. It is implied that he is in need of somebody to talk to.
The chorus line is extremely distorted and is often variously misheard, spawning many mondegreens.
