Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings is the 1994 direct-to-video sequel to 1989's widely popular horror film Pumpkinhead.

A highlight of the film is the genre casting, including Andrew Robinson (Hellraiser), Ami Dolenz (Witchboard 2), J. Trevor Edmond (Return of the Living Dead III) and Joe Unger (A Nightmare On Elm Street). There's also a cameo appearance by Roger Clinton (brother of then US President Bill Clinton) as Mayor Bubba.

Two additional sequels, titled Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes and Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud, were filmed in 2006 as made for television movies to be aired on SCI FI. Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes aired in October 2006, with Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud airing Saturday, February 10th, 2007 at 9PM Eastern. [1]. However, both of these sequels ignore the events of Blood Wings.

[edit] Trivia

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

When Miss Aussie (the witch) pulls the table cloth down and starts the fire that kills her, she is reaching for the Necromonicon Book of the Dead from Army of Darkness. KNB Effects worked on both films and included it as a joke, much like they did in Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday.

In the movie "Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings" the leader of the spoiled young brats, who raise Pumpkinhead from the dead, drives a red Oldsmobile 442 convertible with a white top/interior. Details on the car make it appear to be a 1970 model.

This film spawned a CD-ROM video game, Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge. Archive footage from the movie is included, much of it without the consent or even the knowledge of the actors involved.

Ami Dolenz herself is not the biggest fan of this movie, despite starring in it. She strongly recommends the CD-Rom game it spawned, Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge, over the film itself...as does her co-star, Gloria Hendry.[citation needed]

This is the only film in the series not to feature Lance Henriksen

This is the only film in which Pumpkinhead is killed with conventional weapons as in the others he is only killed when his summoner dies.
