Bloomfield Township, Logan County, Ohio

Bloomfield Township is one of seventeen townships in Logan County, Ohio, United States. It is located on the western edge of the county. The 2000 U.S. Census found 419 people in the township, making Bloomfield the smallest township in Logan County in population.

It borders or touches the following other townships and municipalities:
- Pleasant Township, on the south;
- Salem Township, Shelby County, on the southwest;
- Jackson Township, Shelby County, on the west;
- Stokes Township, on the north;
- Washington Township, on the east
State Route 274 passes through the northern part of Bloomfield Township.

Elsewhere in Ohio, there are also Bloomfield Townships in Jackson and Trumbull Counties.
Bloomfield Township was formed in 1832 from Miami Township.
[edit] Government
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township clerk, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the clerkship or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
