Bloom is Eric Johnson's fourth studio release, released in June 2005. It was the first, new studio release since 1996's Venus Isle, almost nine years previous. However in these nine years he had released a live album by his side-project Alien Love Child entitled Live And Beyond in 2000 as well as an album of previously unreleased material entitled Souvenir in 2002. The album is split into three sections, 'Prelude', 'Courante' and 'Allemande'. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2006 under the category of 'Best Instrumental Pop Album'.
