Blonde Ambition is an upcoming 2007 film inspired by the theme of the Academy Award-winning movie "Working Girl" starring singer/actress Jessica Simpson in the leading role playing the part of a small town girl who moves to New York City and rises up into a great career as a business woman. The film also stars Luke Wilson and actor/comedian Andy Dick who will play the role of an "evil" secretary. "Blonde Ambition" began filming on November 28, 2006 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is aiming for a summer release. The director of this film will be Scott Marshall. The film has been listed in post-production as of February 22, 2007.

Before the movie started filming, the media reported that "Blonde Ambition" was a remake of the 1980's film Working Girl. After Simpson learned about this rumors, she talked to Empire Online and stated, "I don't know where that came from", "it's a movie called "Blonde Ambition" co-starring Luke Wilson. It's definitely the theme of Working Girl - this small town girl that moves to New York City to rise up into this great career as a business woman pretty much. But it's definitely not a remake." Simpson also said that this film is more of a knockabout comedy than the Melanie Griffith starrer, which was a drama genre movie.

In this film, Jessica makes her debut in a leading role, she said "I've never had the leading role, and with this one it's really going to be nice to just dive in and kinda wrap my arms around it... it's definitely comedy! There's a lot of physical comedy; I'll be falling into pot holes on bicycles and goofy stuff." [1]

It was reported that Jessica Simpson was to record a duet with John Mayer for the soundtrack of this film. Simpson's personal assistant later denied the rumor. However, in February 2007 it was confirmed that the promotional single for this movie would be "You Spin Me 'Round (Like A Record)" which will also be Simpson's third single from her gold album "A Public Affair". The music video is set to be directed by Brett Ratner and to be premiered in May 2007.
