[edit] Nominations

These are the nominations that I have submitted for RfA. They went very well.

[edit] In progress

[edit] Have now become admin

[edit] Should be admins

[edit] Will be under investigation

[edit] Promising

[edit] Criteria

I don't really have many statistical criteria - well none that are easily summarized anyway, as edit-count isn't that big

[edit] Generalities

  • Civility - This is important. Administrators are viewed as role models and their actions make a big difference on the morale of the community. Generally, racist or religious attacks will be frowned on very badly, and almost certainly will get strong opposition. Insults are also not appreciated, depending on whether it was a one off, magnitude etc.
  • Edit-warring - This is a minus. Please use the talk page, and this shows negotiation skills and also an ability to make NPOV, which is a big necessity as this is a pillar of WP, and admins need to uphold this and set a good example. In the cases of people like Gastrich, extreme nationalists or religious POV-pushers who refuse to adhere to NPOV, then stopping them will be regarded favourably, as no other option is available.
  • Length of service - hopefully at least four months
  • NPOV - POV pushing will be viewed very negatively. Other than that WP:NPOV is very important, so engaging in hagiography on biographies about one's favourite entertainers and sportspeople is a strong negative.
  • AfDs - Well it's good to have people who make wise decisions in closing AfDs, so if you make many reasoned and investigative contributions then that is a big bonus. If you simply walk around and "vote" a lot without explaining then it won't help - it will be a negative if the "voting" is unreasoned and seems illogical. If you don't do AfD then I don't care at all, I doubt anybody would suddenly start closing AfDs if they weren't previously interested.
  • NP patrol and RCP - Good, I don't punish anybody if they forgot to warn vandals.
  • Image tagging is a big bonus, seems as though a backlog is permanent.
  • Article-writing - The higher proportion to writing the better. That's why we're here. I prefer not a "professional administrator". FAs are not required, but solid amounts of NPOV writing is usually desired, unless made up for elsewhere. This seems more important in light of the growing structural changes in the community. Writing a lot will introduce nuances in POV understanding, so that one can deal with this in disputes as an admin. DYKs are a bonus
  • Userpage - must be non-inflammatory
  • Email - needs to be enabled
  • Talk page archiving and edit summaries are a must.
