Blitz is a British punk/Oi! band who had enjoyed success in the indie charts in the early 1980s.
Comprised of both punk and skinhead members, they came from New Mills in Derbyshire, England, and were enthusiastically championed by Sounds magazine writer Garry Bushell. Their song "Someone's Gonna Die" was later covered by Rancid on the Radio Radio Radio EP. Another Blitz song "Warriors" was covered by The Distillers.
Decades after the original lineup split, guitarist/songwriter Alan "Nidge" Miller recruited new members and performed concerts under the band's name. On February 10, 2007, Miller was struck by a car and died the morning after a concert in Austin, Texas.[1]
