[edit] Plot Outline
After recently losing her sight, Rose's sister Lily must deal with life as a blind person. Meanwhile, in order to buy a new TV, the girls hold a garage sale but find it difficult to part with things.
[edit] Trivia
- Strangely, in this episode, Rose says her hometown is St. Olafs.
- Not only is this episode the first and last for Lily Lindstrom, she is never mentioned again in the entire series.
[edit] References
- Sophia mentions a desire to watch The Cosby Show. Not surprisingly, NBC aired both of the shows.
[edit] Goofs
- In the beginning of the episode when Dorothy is grilling steaks, there's not even a hint of smoke.
- In the airport at the end of this episode, the stewardess is thanking passengers for flying Air Florida, but this isn't possible since Air Florida folded in 1984, two years before this episode.
[edit] Memorable Quotes
- Sophia: So you still moving in with your sister?
Rose: Yes, I think it's best.
Sophia: Great. Now you can ruin your life and hers.
- Blanche: Girls, let's do that: Let's have a garage sale!
Rose: Well, can we get in trouble having a garage sale? I mean, we're not actually selling a garage.
Sophia: If it's a choice between the two of them, let the blind one make change.
- Dorothy: Ma, I keep telling you. We can't get a new TV-we're going to use that money to redo the driveway.
Sophia: Great. And what I am supposed to do when every other old woman on the block is watching The Cosby Show?
Dorothy: Well, Ma, I guess you can sit on the new driveway and hope that an amusing black family comes along.
