Who played the caracter bleeding gums murphy?

According to [1] the voice for Bleeding Gums Murphy was provided by Ron Taylor -- Graham ☺ | Talk 21:41, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

How is it that Bleeding Gums Murphy appeared on Cosby Show in 1986? I don't think the Simpson characters were even on the Tracy Ullman Show at that point, but I didn't think Bleeding Gums made a first appearance until 1990, when they had their own show. Or did Simpsons take the character from the Cosby Show? -- Gyrofrog (talk) 17:05, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

I have tweaked this sentence to hopefully clarify that it was within an episode of the Simpsons that BGM appeared on the Cosbys. Apathetic 09:38, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I've seen a few edits back and forth asserting that Bleeding Gums either "closely" or "loosely" resembles Charlie Parker. Personally I don't see the resemblance, given B.G.'s baldness, longer hair (in back), beard and dark glasses [2]. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:10, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

I think the reference to Parker should be removed, as there is clearly no resemblance Apathetic 09:38, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Now someone else has added a comparison to LeRoi Moore, with whom I don't see a resmblance either (for one thing, Bleeding Gums is supposed to be at least middle-aged, and first appeared early in the series, at which point Moore would still have been a relatively young man). I'm removing the comparisons completely. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:30, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
P.S. Furthermore, Leroi Moore does not seem to be affected by baldness. I think everntually this would have turned into "Bleeding Gums closely resembles [add your favorite saxophonist here]." -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:32, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

I believe the dentist quote is wrong. Should be checked.

i liked the dentist thing, it was funny, and he's bleeding gums murphy, the whole point of his name is that he doesnt go to te dentist! i was really upset when he died, being a saxophonist myself, i found him an inspired by him and think that if i was matt groening i would not have killed a character like that
