[edit] Plot

When D.W. overhears a boy using a swear word in a conversation with his mother at a glass shop, she wonders why the boy's mother dropped the glass she was holding. Arthur warns her not to say it in front of an adult. But The Tibble Twins tell D.W. that the word causes adults to be mind-controlled. As a test, D.W. asks Vecita, her next door neighbor to say it to her parents. When D.W.'s mother asks her to come down for dinner, she accidentally says the swear word to her mother, causing her to get in trouble. She later finds out that the word is a bad word and should not be said.

[edit] Trivia

  • "The Altos", the show that Arthur demonstrates the bleep for, is based on the HBO series "The Sopranos".
  • When D.W. asks Arthur about "the word", there are 2 references to the episode "Arthur's Big Hit": 1. The model plane, and 2. The plane breaking (also D.W saying: "Wow! It happened again!"
