[edit] Userboxes

I rearranged some of the userboxes on your userpage into a more manageable table format. Hope this helps. — Nathan (talk) / 06:21, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] FLCL

Thanks so much for all your help. WP:AID, here we come!

Here's a BarnSakura for your work!
Here's a BarnSakura for your work!

[edit] Pictures!

Please add your pictures to Category:FLCL images. I've put a full tutorial on this at the talk page of FLCL. Also, I've updated our plan-of-attack table at Talk. -Litefantastic 00:12, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Also, I'd like to thank you for the estimated eighty billion FLCL pictures you've uploaded. I'm presently trying to weed for usefulness, but please don't interprit that as a criticism. Uploading things is a pain, and for that matter, you have access to pictures I don't (I don't own the series). Thanks for going to all that trouble for us. -Litefantastic 01:35, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Axe

Since you seem to be cool with my suggestion; I'll take the three overkill pictures to IFD. Also, I think we have most of the pictures we need: we can try putting some of them to use on the mani article, which is still looking too text-y for something as flashy as FLCL. -Litefantastic 20:47, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Axe, Revisited

Sadly, we've reached the stage of the game where we have to start following the rules if we want to keep going. You've probably read the lengthy citation list at Talk:FLCL, but I'll break it down for you anyway.

Most of the pictures you uploaded will simply have to go, and I task you with justifying the sustained existance of the ones you say we keep. Please don't take this the wrong way - I'm still grateful for your effort - but in your enthusiasm you forgot to add a mandatory justification of each image. If you name the ones you want to shaft, I'll file the wikiwork, but it's up to you to come up with justifications for the rest. It's a sad thing to say, but blind abandon is the wrong approach - we're not supposed to upload as many pictures as we can lay our hands on. I know. It saddens me as well.

Tell me when you've made your decisions; in the mean time, I've got more templates to screw around with. -Litefantastic 02:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Axe, Continued

While I'm intensely leery of giving you legal advice on the rationalizations of your images, I can't see anything glaringly wrong with the boilerplate attachment you showed me. I recommend, though, that you look into Wikipedia:Fair Use.

I've also drafted this little who's-who of images I think could be shafted with minimal damage to the quality of the FLCL article family:

  • Image:Atomskta.JPG
  • Image:Amaraobread.JPG
  • Image:CantiTransformed.JPG
  • Image:Cantiandnaota.JPG
  • Image:FlyingAtomskta.JPG
  • Image:HarukoCanti.JPG
  • Image:Harurobot.JPG
  • Image:Mamimicamera.JPG
  • Image:Mamimicamera.JPG
  • Image:Mamimi3.jpg

Tell me what you think. -Litefantastic 20:58, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Feel free to nominated these at WP:IFD (I'm out of time just now). If I get the chance, I'll do it later. -Litefantastic 02:01, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:HarukoCanti2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:HarukoCanti2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Fair use images

I removed your image on your user page because: "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. This is because it is the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation to allow an unfree image only if no free alternative exists and only if it significantly improves the article it is included on. All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if there is a broad consensus that doing so is necessary to the goal of creating a free encyclopedia (like the templates used as part of the Main Page)".
