User talk:Blackberrylaw
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello Blackberrylaw. My name is Orane (but I go by the name 'Journalist' on Wikipedia) and I am one of Wikipedia's Administrators. I just stopped by to say Hi and to formally welcome you to Wikipedia. Thank you for your awesome contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I know that being here for the first few days may be a bit confusing, but you'll get used to it pretty soon.
Here are a few good links for newcomers. I know that they can be boring, but I recommend that you take a look at them:
- Policies and guidelines
- What Wikipedia is not
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Manual of Style

[edit] Splashdown
I reverted your edit to list since no Disambiguation page exists, if you intend to create one please don't change the article until it is in place. Thanks --pgk(talk) 20:33, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Becoming_x.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Becoming_x.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 08:26, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move of Grant High School (Oregon)
Your move of this article does not seem to be in accordance with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style regarding article titles. While Ulysses S. Grant High School is the official title, it is clear that it is more commonly referred to merely as Grant High School. Even the official school seal bears the initials GHS. Inconsistency in naming conventions has become seriously problematic on Wikipedia. -- J-M Jgilhousen 23:21, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- This is not worth getting into a pie throwing contest. Do what you want. But I would suggest if you want to be taken seriously as someone who reads and follows written instructions, you will post messages to people's talk pages, not their personal pages. I am baffled by how the MoS policy to title articles with their popular name could be confusing in the slightest bit, but I have better things to do than argue with you. Do what you want (as if I had any fear otherwise). -- J-M Jgilhousen 18:27, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Postscript
I have reverted your change on Postscript, because your reasoning for reverting (weasel words) seemed a bit out of place. If you would like to discuss this further please reply to the article's talk page. McKay 14:37, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
