Blake Schilb

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blake Schilb (born December 23, 1983, in Rantoul, Illinois) is an American college men's basketball player at Loyola University Chicago, and projected by several sources as a potential 2007 NBA Draft pick[1]. The 6'7", 220-pound forward averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game as a junior in 2005-06, and was named Honorable Mention All-American.

Schilb entered his name in the 2006 NBA Draft after his junior year, and attended several player evaluation camps. He withdrew his name prior to the deadline to return to Loyola for his senior season. Entering his senior season at Loyola, he ranks 15th in points (1351), second in three-pointers made (151), and ninth in assists (306) in school history. He was named 2006-07 Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year, and named to the Preseason Wooden Award watch list.

Though Charlotte Bobcats head coach and GM Bernie Bickerstaff expressed interest in drafting Schlib, who he called the next LaRue Martin, Michael Jordan fired Bickerstaff and prevented Schlib from getting drafted by the Bobcats.[citation needed]
