Blacky Rebel

Blacky Rebel is the lead singer with the Rock Band Red Star Rebels. Born James Black in 1979 he was a popular if troublesome pupil at Northfields Upper School, Dunstable, UK. It was here that he met Paul Mead, Steve Dunne and Mark Sibley who would soon form local Rock Group Shooting Lucy, later known as Dead Sea Scrolls, Mia and Surefire. In 2004 Surefire disbanded and Red Star Rebels was formed with Blacky Rebel on lead vocals, Meady Rebel and Jonny Rebel on guitars, Dazzle Rebel on bass and Stevie Rebel on drums. Stevie Rebel left in January 2007.

Blacky is known as a talented singer and songwriter, writing many of the songs that feature in Red Star Rebels.
