Blackwood, Cumbernauld
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Blackwood is one of the newest areas of Cumbernauld, a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The first parts were constructed in approximately 1995. It is the southern-most point in Cumbernauld, and is fairly close to Kirkintilloch
Blackwood is near to Broadwood Stadium, home of Clyde Football Club, and the man-made loch, Broadwood Loch.
Often criticised by its own residents, Blackwood has no local shops and reasonably bad public transport links, apart from the nearby Croy railway station. Additionally, electrical pylons run through this area and is known to look quite unsightly.
