Black rose (grape)

Black rose is a rare table grape developed in 1941. Parentage: (Damas Rose X Black Monukka) X Ribier (Alphonse Lavallee), all Vitis vinifera varieties[1]. From Brooks and Harold Olmo, "Cluster: large, conical. Berry: large, high quality, skin jet black with a light grayish bloom."

This grape is not commercially viable due to the short shelf life. In addition, the delicate skin makes transportation difficult. For home consumption, they are wonderful. The plant itself is very disease resistant.^{[citation needed]}
