Black ambient
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Black Ambient is a music manifestation started within Europe, although now reaching even the shores of North America, Australia, and even New Zealand, with a wide range of artists, mainly, although not always, influenced by black metal and ambient music. Black Ambient can, and is, often permeated by a foreboding and dark essence, a thick and heavy production, and subliminally oppressive atmosphere. Black Ambient, in distinction to Dark Ambient is generally devoid of romanticism and can range anywhere became industrialised rythmic works, to freeform evocations of chaos. Regularly there is not even basic intimation made to standard perceptions of musical form, as such is often not even the intent, whether consciously recognised or not, of this particular genre. Black Ambient therefore can, on several levels, be considered as a form of subliminal anti music, though to the contrary also be considered, due to its form, musick ("k" denoting a magickal basis) and or works of black magick.
Black ambient can be either a combination of black metal and a heavy ambient or synthesized atmosphere or an ambient / synthesized composition laced with "black metal" elements. Said black metal elements must be understood to not always be evident on presentation, as they can instead to represented in the chosen and influencing aesthetic or idealised philosophy. Black ambient is generally isolationist and extremely anticommercial in dynamic.
