IMDb profile

Black Robe is a 1991 movie directed by Bruce Beresford. The screenplay was written by Irish-Canadian author Brian Moore, who based it on his own novel of the same name.

The film is set in the 17th century and tells the story of a Jesuit priest and his young companion who are escorted in late fall by Algonquin Indians across what is now called Quebec, to find a distant mission in a Huron villiage.

The film stars Lothaire Bluteau as Father Laforgue. Other cast members include Sandrine Holt, Tantoo Cardinal and August Schellenberg. The film also stars Raoul Trujillo, who played as Zero Wolf in "Apocalypto".
