Black Pagoda

The Black Pagoda is a temple of the Hindu god Surya, and is located in the village of Konark in the Indian state of Orissa. For its architecture and decoration, it is recognised as a major building of Orissa, a state that is famous in India for the beauty of its many temples. It is one of few notable temples of Surya, which are not numerous in India.

The temple is designed as the chariot of Surya.The first rays of sunlight fall on the main shrine.
