Black Nova Traders

Black Nova Traders is a turn-based strategy game that runs within web-browsers. It is licensed as freeware. The game server requires PHP and a SQL database like MySQL to be up and running on the web-host. These servers may be private or commercial. The game may be played on the Black Nova Gaming Network and is available for download via SourceForge.net (both listed in External Links below).
The game places the player in control of a space ship. The player may then choose to use warp links or traverse using real space movement to visit sectors. Some sectors contain planets, some contain trading ports and some may have both. The starting sector has a special port which allows players to upgrade their ships and buy various items. Ships and sectors may be scanned, but doing a scan on the former is considered an aggressive measure. Colonizing planets is possible within the game, but requires some defenses to be established for protection.
