The Black-veined White, (Aporia crataegi), is a fairly large butterfly of the Pieridae family. It normally lives in orchards and bushes throughout most of Europe and northern Africa, although it is currently extinct in the British Isles. It usually feeds on plants in the genus Prunus. It can usually be seen in flight from mid-spring through mid-summer.
