From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greetings. I haven't put a great deal of thought into what's on this page or how it looks. Right now I'm more interested in writing articles than spiffing up this point of presence on Wikipedia. I've seen some really great layouts on some other user pages, so I may get around to upgrading this page sometime. But for now, there's not much to see here.
In case there's any confusion, I use older≠wiser as my signature. This is an entirely self-referential comment. Excepting myself, people generally are wiser as they get older.
I'm a technical writer by training. I have returned to the ranks of the gainfully employed, so I won't have quite as much time to spend on Wikipedia.
I live in Albion, Michigan. My wife is a professor at Albion College. I was born in Ohio and have spent most of my life in and around Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Although very much an American, I am profoundly disturbed by the international embarrassment currently occupying the white House.
I've discovered Wikipedia in February, 2004 and began editing almost immediately. My interests and plans for wiki articles include Michigan, New Zealand, Australia and Germany. My wife's mother was Cherry Wilder, who spent time in NZ, Oz and Deutschland. (Shameless plug: Check out Cherry's posthumously published book The Wanderer ISBN 0312874057). Also, all my grandparents were from Germany as well.
Though I never would have guessed this when I started, I have become very interested in articles relating to U.S. History, from the colonial period through early territorial expansion, especially pertaining to the midwest, but each of the territories has lots of interesting stories to unravel.
