Bitter Virgin (ビターバージン) is a seinen manga presented by Kusunoki Kei and serialized in Young Gangan. This story contains drama, romance and slice of life.

Suwa Daisuke is a bored high schooler living in the rural Japanese countryside. He's a player and ladies man and comes off as slightly vain and self-absorbed in the first chapter, hoping to leave the small town he grew up in and move to the city like his sister if he could get a good university to admit him. During class, while discussing which girls in the class he would date with his friend, he said he would "pass" on only one: Aikawa Hinako. She is his quiet and extremely beautiful classmate, but has an extreme fear of any physical touch from a man and avoids men, even her teachers. Working after school in his family's restaurant and on that one fateful day, runs a delivery and stops in an abandoned church. Having made up a horror story of a murdered bride's vengeful and murderous ghost that "chases you around with a cake knife", the entire town's population, save him, stays away from it, much to his own amusment. Stopping inside to rest, he hears someone coming and jumps into a nearby confessional booth. The intruder is Aikawa Hinako herself. When she asks who's there, he impersonates a priest renovating the church inside the safety of the confessional to avoid a potentially awkward moment. Although Daisuke says that confessions are not being taken at the moment, Hinako says, "Although I'm not a Christian, will you allow me to confess?" Daisuke, trapped wordlessly agrees. From there, she tells him a story that will inadverdently bond him to her forever.
When she was younger, she was sexually forced by her stepfather and impregnated. After getting an abortion and telling her mother, wanting nothing to do with it and unsure what to do, let the abuse continue. Hinako was impregnated again, and went to get an abortion, but the clinic's doctors said that if she had another abortion, she might lose the ability to bear children completely. Hinako then instead bore the child and put the newborn up for adoption. Because of that, she enters the church on that day, her child's birthday. Wondering if she had even the right to, after never looking at the child's face, Daisuke (not knowing at all what to say) in desperation yells at the top of his lungs, "God supports you!"
After that incident, Daisuke forms a kind of bond that Hinako knows nothing about and unconsciously resolves to protect her or find her a boyfriend that will make her happy. Later, following her after school, still unsure if her story was true or not, Hinako stops to stare at a woman and a baby boy in a carriage. Accidentally losing control, the carriage starts to roll down a hill. Hinako runs instantly forward to save the child, and Daisuke to protect Hinako. The carriage and baby are saved, but not before bouncing and hitting Daisuke in the forehead and giving him a cut, and landing in a heap with the baby and Hinako. Inadverdently, Hinako's skirt is rolled up, and he sees a Caesaerian scar just above her panties, recognizing it because he, himself was born in such a way. Her story proven true, Daisuke is more determined than ever to help her, and find the reason his every thought from that point on is of her...

Suwa Daisuke: The main character of the story who accidentally heard Aikawa Hinako's confession of her past when he posed as a Christian priest in a church confessional. A bit quiet, but a ladies man and actually very sensitive when it comes to Aikawa Hinako.
Aikawa Hinako: The main female character of the story who has developed extreme trauma towards men caused by her step father molesting her when she was younger, from which she was pregnant twice. The secondary tragedy on her pysche is that even as the story takes place, she is only 16 years old, indicating she was actually younger than that when she had her child.
Ibuse Kazuki: She is Daisuke's classmate who also likes him. She is quite flashy and would love to have Daisuke as a boyfriend and is quite friendly with him. She seems to dress in the ganguro girl style, but lacks the artificial tanned skin to prove it. She latches herself onto Daisuke as his girlfriend, and grows bitter towards Aikawa when Daisuke does not seem to reciprocate the same feelings.
Yamamoto Yuzu: She is also Daisuke's classmate and also secretly likes him. She works in his mother's restaurant with him. She's the traditional girl next door and constantly badgers him like a "henpecking wife" to do his school chores or other assorted tasks (of which, of course he will constantly try to escape).
