Bitchfield Castle

Bitchfield Castle is a pele tower near to Belsay, Northumberland (grid reference NZ091771).
This tower was built in the 15th century by the Middleton family. A mansion was subsequently built beside one of its walls. It was in a state of ruin by 1930 but has been restored after it was sold during that year.
