How come it is so colorful? --Abdull 20:35, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

As the crystal cools it forms a thin layer of oxide. I'm not really sure, but i think the various colors arise because of some kind of diffraction, probably because the oxide layer has varying thickness. It is very easy to wipe or scratch off this oxide layer, so take care when handling any crystals. Intangir 01:03, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
