Bismuth subcarbonate

Bismuth Subcarbonate (BiO)2 CO3, or milk of bismuth, was a popular snake oil in the 1930's. It is used today in fireworks [1] to make Dragon's eggs. In modern medicine, bismuth subcarbonate has been made into nano tube arrays that exhibit antibacterial properties[2]. It is also is highly radiopaque and is used as a filler in radiopaque catheters which can be seen by x-ray[3].
