Bisection bandwidth

In computer networking, bisection bandwidth is the sum of the bandwidth of the minimum number of channels which, if removed, would partition the network into two sub-graphs. -- David H. Bailey

Thus, bisection bandwidth is a measure of bottleneck bandwidth: the total bandwidth that could be achieved with members of one of the sub-graphs communicating with members of the other sub-graph.
