[edit] Birkebeiner or Birkebeinar?

The article uses a mixture of spellings, probably reflecting the differing spelling in the Nordic languages. Which is the one normally used in English? I wouldn't want to assume that the skiing events' spelling of -er is necessarily the right one. --JBellis 19:00, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Birkebeiner is Norwegian bokmål and Birkebeinar is Norwegian nynorsk. What is most common in English? Good question. I've seen birchlegs and birchshanks as well.--Barend 14:41, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Weight of backpack

"...of carrying a heavy backpack weighing 3.5 kg" My school backpack weighs 10kg, so saying 3.5kg is heavy seems to be slightly exaggerated to me. --Ult 3/31/2007
