Birkir Kristinsson (born October 15, 1964) is a former Icelandic football goalkeeper, who got 73 caps for the national team.
He started his career with Vestmannaeyjar team ÍBV, and also played with KR, ÍA and Fram in the Icelandic league before moving to S.K. Brann in 1996. Failing to make a solid impression there, he moved on to spells with IFK Norrköping, Bolton Wanderers and Lustenau. In 1999 he returned to ÍBV, and played there since, only interrupted by a spell in Stoke City in 2000/01. His brother Magnús Kristinsson, a businessman, was the chairman of Stoke Holding, the Icelandic consortium which at the time owned Stoke City.
His last international match was against Italy in Reykjavík in August 2005, where Iceland beat Italy 2-0. Birkir Kristinsson was 40 years old at that time.
