[edit] Plot
Successful lawyer Marianne Graves (Goldie Hawn) runs into old boyfriend Rick Jarmin (Mel Gibson) while he's working at an auto shop. He denies, but eventually confirms, that he is really Rick, Marianne's lover that disappeared fifteen years ago. As it turns out, Rick is a protected witness in the Witness Protection Program who comes under fire when the criminal he testified against is released on parole. When Marianne learns what really happened and that Rick did not jilt her on purpose, she joins him on a cross-country trek while dodging the police and the criminals after Rick.
