[edit] Plot Summary

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

After once again losing to the Batman, Penguin barely escapes, literally by the seat of his pants. As he and his Kabuki Twins come across a TV report, and Penguin learns that Bruce Wayne is to be the subject of a day-long interview show called “A Day in the Life”. Penguin, jealous of Wayne, begins scheming.

The following day, Bruce begins the interview, leaving for Wayne Industries among other things. Once out of the house, Alfred answers the door in the middle of making dinner, and is horrified to find the Penguin and his Kabuki Twins waiting for him. Penguin trashes Wayne Manor as the twins loot it for valuables.

Alfred attempts to make a call to Bruce, but Penguin intercepts it, and begins talking with Bruce over the phone. Bruce tells the female reporter, Mel, and her cameraman, that he has to cut the interview short due to personal issues. As he leaves, he quickly changes into Batman and rushes over to Wayne Manor, where he and Penguin begin fighting. Mel and her cameraman show up and notice that the power has been cut, and walk right into the duel between Batman and Penguin. They quickly rush into action, filming as much of it as possible, and are enthralled when Batman is knocked unconscious. Penguin, gloating, decides to use the publicity to unmask Batman, on camera, to the world.

Alfred manages to stall for time, and Batman wakes up before Penguin can unmask him, and the two begin fighting throughout Wayne Manor once again. The battle leads to the rooftop, where Penguin continues to use his trick umbrella to fight off Batman until he nearly falls to his death. Batman manages to catch him, and he is sent to Arkham once again, but not before catching the attention of Mel, who decides to do an interview with him instead. She also brings into subject that Bruce and Batman are never seen together, but her unmentioned theory is quickly shot down when “Batman” shows up at the top of Wayne Manor while Bruce is standing next to her. As Penguin is carted away and Mel and her cameraman have left, Alfred shows up, dressed in the Batman costume.
