- Yamla, thank you for your comments. If I have valuable information or great pictures of an artist, why can't I link it to my webpage? I understand that the information should be included in wikipedia instead, but what about the pictures? Why can't I create a link to my own webpage, however I can add links to other's webpages?
- thanks for your response, I am new on wikipedia and I would really like to collaborate. Being part of the team of the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco TV Festival, we have taken pictures of hundreds of important actors and I think this would really enrich the content of Wikipedia. - I'm sorry, Wikipedia policy dictates that it is inappropriate to add links to these sorts of sites to Wikipedia articles. Please read WP:EL for information on what external links are appropriate. You should never add a link to a site you run, which means the entire Biosstars website cannot be added by you. More generally, a collection of pictures, while a useful web resource, is not particularly valuable to an encyclopedia. Now, on the other hand, if one of your pictures can be licensed appropriately (basically, freely licensed), please feel free to add it to an article if the article does not already have a picture. Thanks! --Yamla 20:28, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ayuda
After you upload an image you may place it by adding this code [[Image:Evangeline_Lilly_Star.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Evangeline Lilly at Monaco]]. The first part is the name of the image, then you may add the placement (left, right, center) then if you want a thumb or frame then the size of the displayed picture (it is advised not to exceed 250px) and finally a caption. The code presented above generates this:
Perdona por no haber contestado en español pero al ser de Puerto Rico a veces no es tan fácil comunicarme en español, en especial si la persona es de América del Sur. Joelito 21:20, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Brenda Strong at the Cannes Film Festival.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Brenda Strong at the Cannes Film Festival.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] RE: Salma Hayek
If Image:Salma Hayek in Cannes.jpg was taken by your husband (and I presume he still holds the copyright to it) consider licensing it under the GFDL or a commericial Creative Commons license found at WP:ICT, or uploading to the commons. For verification purposes, we'd also need something like an email address or other way to reach him to confirm it has been licensed by the author, which can be sent to permissions [1].--Fallout boy 03:12, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

How about using this one from your site that doesn't make her look like she is about the vomit (like the one uploaded now does)? AriGold 16:53, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I would very much like you to upload this image to Wikimedia Commons so that it may be used for all Wikimedia projects. Thank you in advance. --|EPO| 21:03, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. But to add an image to an article it can be uploaded locally on that Wikipedia it shall be used on. That's what you have done with this image. I have tried to search for it on Commons, but I don't get any results.
- I could of course upload it myself but I believe it would be politely to ask the original uploader to do it. --|EPO| 15:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

- I have now uploaded the image to Commons crediting you as the original uploader under same licenses as here. See commons:Image:Jessica Alba cannes.jpg. --|EPO| 19:55, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I see that you have gotten a couple of questions on image copyrights, and it seems most of them have been solved which is great. Here is another one. I really think there should be some kind of indication from the photographer that he himself has put the image under the creative commons license - is Philippe Baledent yourself? it does not say. Since several of these issues have been solved before, I am sure you know it is about. If the issue is solved, I would be glad to place the image on Wikimedia Commons so other projects - such as wikipedias in other languages - can use the image. // Habj 22:22, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
