Talk:Biocoenosis

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are three fairly common spellings of this word: biocenose, biocoenose, and biocoenosis. The first is the least common by Google search, and the last is by far the most common by Google (4 or 5 to 1) and dictionary searches (e.g., Refdesk). I'm inclined to use the original spelling biocoenosis as that seems much more widely used in ecology. Anybody have an opinion on this before I make the change? - Marshman 17:28, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hi: if biocoenosis is not the most common synonym and biological or biotic community is more widely used, why is the topic still named biocoenosis? Shouldn't we change the topic's name and redirect biocoenosis there? ProfMilton 19:37, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
