Biovicino selo

Biovičino Selo (Serbian Cyrillic: Биовичино Село) is a village located in the municipality of Kistanje, in the Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia. The village is situated in northern Dalmatia, in the region known as Bukovica.


Population is Serbian Eastern Orthodox Christian. After August 1995 Operation Storm Biovicino Selo is populated by mostly elderly people of over 50 years old.

Eastern Orthodox Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (Crkva Sv. Petra i Pavla), was built from 1524-1534 AD. First school was oppened in 1909/1910 AD. This school was located by the church. First teacher was Mirko Lezajic. Old school was used until 1936 AD. It was also used by other nearby villages, of Kolašac and Modrino Selo. Beginning in 1936, school is moved to center of Biovičino Selo. First teacher was, BLAŽO KARADJINOVIĆ, from Crna Gora. During WW2, this school was destroyed. Students used the home of Ljuban Medos, until school was rebuilt in 1949. After WW2, teacher was Darinka Vujasinovic. New school started functioning in 1966, and is named Jovo Kablar.
