Binyamin Gibli
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Col. Binyamin Gibli was the head of Aman from 1950 to 1955. As head he was responsible for launching Operation Suzannah, whose purpose was to keep the British in the Suez Canal by creating an environment of instability. After carrying out a number of non-fatal bombings, Egyptian authorities unraveled the plot, which clearly pointed to Israeli involvement. Known as the Lavon Affair, this failure forced Gibli to resign his post.
