[edit] Game play
The gaming field is a 5x7 grid, filled partially with pairs of elements. Every pair consists of two different elements combined of four possible. You control the box with an element inside. You can move around the field on empty spaces. You can also remove pairs of elements, if you have the same element as the one of the pair. When you remove the pair, your element becomes the other one element of the pair and the score is increased. The gaming field scrolls down slowly (increasing the speed with your progress) and your goal is to stay as long as possible on the field. At the last line, if you can not take the pair in front of you, the scrolling will move your block down and the game will end !
[edit] Game example
Here we have a simple example with a part of the gaming field :
[edit] Taking
Initial position (you start with the [U] element) :
..................... .X-O H-X O-U U-X. .O-H X-U U-X O-U. . [U] . .....................
Move up and take the X-U pair with your U, and your new element becomes X :
..................... .X-O H-X O-U U-X. .O-H [X] U-X O-U. . . .....................
Just move one position up, without taking anything :
..................... .X-O H-X [X] O-U U-X. .O-H U-X O-U. . . .....................
Move to left and take the H-X pair with your X. You new element is now H :
..................... .X-O [H] O-U U-X. .O-H U-X O-U. . . .....................
With the H element, you can take only the O-H double :
..................... ..................... .X-O O-U U-X. .X-O O-U U-X. .O-H [H] U-X O-U. ---> .[O] U-X O-U. . . . . ..................... .....................
[edit] Scrolling
If now a scrolling appears, the game image can be like this :
..................... ..................... .X-O O-U U-X. s .O-H H-O H-U U-O . .[O] U-X O-U. ---> .X-O O-U U-X. . . .[O] U-X O-U. ..................... .....................
Next scroll will lead to taking the pair in front of player :
..................... ..................... .O-H H-O H-U U-O . s . X-U O-U U-X H-X. .X-O O-U U-X. ---> .O-H H-O H-U U-O . .[O] U-X O-U. .[X] O-U U-X. ..................... .....................
[edit] Game Over
There aren't moves with X element in the current position (all X-pairs are not accessible). A new scroll will lead to Game Over :
..................... ..................... . X-U O-U U-X H-X. s .O-X H-U H-X U-O. .O-H H-O H-U U-O . ---> . X-U O-U U-X H-X. Game Over ! .[X] O-U U-X. .O-H H-O H-U U-O . ..................... .....................
[edit] Basic strategy
It is useful to keep in mind, that if a pair is going to go outside the gaming field, this is not the end of the game. The player should always have around pairs with all (or most) possible elements. Don't try to clean the whole field. This will increase the score, but will increase the risk to fall in situation, when the only chance to pass is to have particular element in the incoming row.
