[edit] BRB

I am taking a small break from Wikipedia for the time being. I have work to do on my Nicholl Fellowship submissions and this is distracting me at the moment.

I also have serious questions about what sanction I might be granting to people that exploit and pervert the Objectivist and Ayn Rand related articles. Read "Fact and Value" by Leonard Peikoff, "On Moral Sanctions" & "On Sanctioning the Sanctioners." by Peter Schwartz. I am beginning to see that applying those arguments to Wikipedia as well as Libertarianism might just be reasonable. Billyjoekoepsel 02:12, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alienus's edit war

Since I am about to be in violation of the revert rules, I would greatly appreciate help in reverting Alienus's "LGBT rights opposition" categorization of Ayn Rand. Thank you very much. LaszloWalrus 07:35, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for helping to keep the Ayn Rand article objective. LaszloWalrus 18:59, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Be back later.

As much fun as it is engaging in pointless debate with people who couldn't care less about the truth I have a second draft of a novel to finish and a spec script that's hot in my head. My time here will be spent on research and the occasional minor edit. To all that wish more information I send you to speak with Voltaire: "All that is very well," answered Candide, "but let us cultivate our garden." Billyjoekoepsel 00:41, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A gift for my buddy Alienus.

This user was once bitten by a Sumatran Rat-Monkey.

Billyjoekoepsel 21:29, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Not really.
  1. I wouldn't say that I'm your buddy.
  2. I wouldn't call you a sumatran rat-monkey.
  3. I wouldn't say that your pestering amounts to a bite.

Alienus 21:35, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

It makes me giggle like a little school girl that you check up on my userpage. Like a little girl I tell you. I might even pee in my white cotton panties. :) Hee Hee Hee Billyjoekoepsel 06:29, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
It's not my place to comment on your serious emotional problems. Alienus 19:11, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I am beginning to like you. Do you want to exchange BFF bracelets? I like green. I peg you as a purple.Billyjoekoepsel 19:42, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
You'd do better giving the purple bracelet to your imaginary friend. Alienus 18:19, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LaszloWalrus

Thank you very much for help with my userboxes; I would greatly appreciate it as I've noticed that my page seems somewhat cluttered, but I'm not sure how to clean it up myself. Also, thank you for help in maintaining the integrity of the Ayn Rand and Tara Smith pages. In regard to the Tara Smith discussion page, do you have any idea what translator is talking about? Why does he think that labeling someone an atheist is smear? LaszloWalrus 03:35, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Translator? I have two thoughts.
First the assuming good faith thought. English is his second language. Portuguese is Latin based and if he came from that background he may see it from that point of view.
Second is the paranoid idea that he is a strawman sockpuppet trying to get your goat.
I don't know which but he is a little on the histrionic side. Billyjoekoepsel 04:14, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your work ony my page; it looks great. LaszloWalrus 05:15, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alienus redux

The Great and Heroic Alienus, martyr on par with Elie Wiesel (end sarcasm) is again up to vandalism, this time on the Objectivism and homosexuality article. Of particular bias (in my view) is the categorization of "LGBT rights opposition" in the article, the labeling of Ayn Rand as a "homophobe," the implication that Harry Binswanger is a liar, and the conflation of Objectivism with Libertarianism. If you agree with me (which from your post on the discussion pages of that article and the general Ayn Rand one it seems that you would), I suggest we take turns reverting Alienus's changes, and quickly report him for a 3RR violation if he attempts such. Thanks. LaszloWalrus 04:14, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, please join an edit war. Don't worry about Wikipedia policies against deleting relevant, cited text. Just come on down and whitewash Rand's reputation at all costs. Better yet, plot to trick me into a 3RR, which counts as gaming the system. PLEASE do all of these things. Wikipedia would be much improved by your absence. Alienus 04:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Please try and keep a cool head, despite comments people may make against you. Personal attacks and disruptive comments will only escalate a situation; please keep calm and action can be taken against the other parties if necessary. Your involvement in attacking back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors, and lead to general bad feeling. Please try and be civil. Thanks! (CJ) Alienus 04:44, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Please do not keep undoing other people's edits without discussing them first. This is considered impolite and unproductive. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Alienus 04:44, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Attempted intervention

Speaking as one $-of-O to others, I would ask you (and Laz) to trust me for a while, re the editing of O&&H. Please read the new comments (all on the Talkpage) and refrain from reverts, even though the article will be in less-than-ideal shape during the editing process. I am attempting an intervention here, and it certainly won't work without the agreement (consensus) of all parties.
Al is quite bright, and a better editor than I am. If he and I can avoid butting heads over things (e.g., the anti-concept "positive rights") which are irrelevant to the article, then I think we will all be pleased at the NPOV outcome.--TJ 12:23, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

I have serious concerns about the copyright status of this image that you uploaded, so I have reported it to Images for deletion. I think the image was taken in staet detention, not federal, and therefore does not have the copyright status you attributed to it. Please clarify if you can. -- nae'blis (talk) 18:04, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] good to have you back

It's good to have you back. One thing you might want to look out for: Alienus has been banned (ie blocked permanently) from editing Wikipedia. Neverthless, he is using Tor to generate new IP addresses, and continues to edit. He has a habit of stalking people he doesn't like and reverting their edits, usually with nothing more than an "rv v." LaszloWalrus 05:12, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Indeed! Welcome back. I missed your sense of humor, seems Al never did get it...ahhh welll. I have a big favor to ask, I'll make it really easy for you to say yes! just e-mail me at mystar@chartermi.net, or respond on my talk page ;p Mystar 21:56, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
