On James and Lily Potter, it says their first appearence was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, even though they are dead before the beginning of that book. I am assuming it refers to their photos' or Mirror of Erised, so then Bill's first appearance is PoA. Supersaiyanplough|^(talk) 05:20, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

It was suggested that we should switch the fan drawing of Bill Weasley be replaced by a photo of the actor. I changed it but i think that the drawing captured his character better (it featured the trademark ponytail) then the current picture. What do you guts think? TonyJoe 05:51, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

I think we should put both drawing pic and current pic, just like other characters in Harry Potter universe. For example, Fleur has two pics (animated and real pics). HoneyBee 11:06, 10 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fan Image

Samhita (talk|contribs) has repeatedly put a rather large fan-made image in the middle of this article. I don't want to start an edit war, but I'm reverting it again. Not only is it unencyclopedic, but it's copyrighted. On the side of this image is url www.playwitch.net. On the front page of playwitch.net, it says:

Please do not take any of the contents of this site without the express permission of the site owner. This includes, layout/design, graphics, written material such as interviews and all characters created for this site. In the case of fan art and fan fiction, please inquire with the artist and/or author for permission to post their work.

Samhita has put the image back on. I normally would try to come to a consensus here and on his talk page, as it has already been removed 5 times and I don't want an edit war, but I'm removing it yet again as it is copyrighted. --¿ WhyBeNormal ? 17:43, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

• I have removed the image for the second time myself..... it has no place in this article, the user Samhita also keeps putting a picture of Samuel L. Jackson on the Kingsley Shacklebolt page, which i also keep removing. Dan 15:41, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

He's been doing it all over the Harry Potter articles. We should definitely list his image uploads to WP:IFD for deletion. If he's been reverting your image removals more than three times, maybe a 3RR block will get his attention. A look at his list of contribs shows a serious lack of knowledge of image copyrights. --Deathphoenix 16:02, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

    • Has She/He actually intreacted with anyone? Lots of people have left stuff on her talk page, at first I thought it was just newbie type stuff. Blanking a talk page that she did not like (and blanking it again when I fixed it). But my ability to assume good faith is limited .... though I guess I can not attribute to malce what coudl be explained by ..... other means. Dalf | Talk 04:15, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone know if Bill is short for William or Bilius? I always assumed that it was William, but then I remembered Ron's middle name is Bilius and they have an Uncle Bilius, could Bill be Bilius as well. It certainly seems like a popular family name.

[edit] Error In Title

There is an error in the title of the first Harry Potter book. Wikipedia acknowledges the book by Harry Potter and the Philosepher's Stone, when really the actual title of the book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I'm neither a member nor frequent user of Wikipedia, and so I'm not sure on how this can be changed on the entire site, but if anyone could something about this error I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated!

The title given is the original British title. It was only known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone In the U.S. edition. The custom on WIkipedia is to use british english, spelling, conventions when refering to british books or culture or art; to use U.S. conventions for U.S. things and wihn either would do whoever makes the first significnt edit gets to chose and everyone else shoudl follow their lead.
