I was on the Today show in about 1975. So this was Bill Grundy? I was there because I had a "penny for the guy", Guy Fawkes Guy manikin type thing. In the last 20 seconds of the Today show, Bill asked me, I think, "What are you going to spend the money on" or perhaps "Are you going to spend the money on fireworks?" (as is traditional) and I replied "No" to which Bill said "Why?" and I said "Um, because they are dangerous" (the truth was that I wanted to spend the money on toys and shik but) then Bill asked me, "How do you know that?" I was really stumped. How do you know that fireworks are dangerous? Isn't it obvious? If it were me now at 40, I would say, "Hey, Bill, that is a stupid question, everyone knows that fireworks are dangerous" but I was only 10 or so, so I　said, I think, "er..because my mother told me!" Ouch. I didnt want to say that. But big Bill put me in that position. He was full of himself but also a sort or rebel. A working class lad. An Australian! or something. And I guess that is why he did not want to back down to the sex pistols. He was the rebel. But he met his match.

The article should really have more of a biog. Almost all of it is about the Sex Pistols incident. Ben Finn 22:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Well, to be honest, aside from the Sex Pistols incident, what else is there to say about Grundy? He was only some third rate pissed news presenter. SM UK 11:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone know what he did during WWII? I came across a reference to him in a book on WOYG Beaumanor, it said he was in the Fleet Air Arm at Loughborough but it is not clear whether he was also in the Y Service. --jmb 00:00, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
