Billy Mann (real name: William Hort Mann born "Erlichman") was originally a singer/songwriter, now record producer/songwriter and entrepreneur who started his career living in a car and playing in dive bars. This year The New York Times' online ABOUT.COM named Mann #8 on the Top 10 Best Record Producers of 2006.

Born in Philadelphia, Mann is one of that city's brightest hometown-boy success stories. Originally signed to A&M Records in 1994 after being discovered by 80s record producer Ric Wake, Billy Mann went on to record two solo efforts (Self-Titled 1995 and Earthbound 1998) that yielded critical acclaim and included collaborations with top musicians, including songwriter Carole King, as well as moderate hits internationally, including "Ain't Gonna Keep Me Hangin' Around" and "Killed By a Flower". Billy Mann has written and produced scores of songs including God Is A DJ and Stupid Girls for P!nk (aka. Alecia Moore), For You I Will for Teddy Geiger, "Love Lives In Strange Places," "This Is Love" and "Still In Love With My Ex" for Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, and With You for Jessica Simpson, "Song For The Unloved" and "Poster Girl" for the Backstreet Boys, "Heavy On My Heart" for multiplatinum dance artist Anastacia. among many others. Mann has quietly written and/or produced numerous #1 and Top 10 singles in formats outside of Mainstream Pop such as Do It For Love (Hall & Oates), Sending You A Little Christmas (Jim Brickman featuring Kristy Starling), Treat Her Like a Lady (Celine Dion), "Three Is Family" (Dana Dawson), Alive and Tuesday Afternoon (Jennifer Brown), We Are Alive - a reworking of Jennifer Brown's 'Alive' - (Paul Van Dyk), and Love Shy (Kristine Blonde), amongst several others.

Mann has also written and/or produced for country artists Martina McBride, Jessica Andrews, Deana Carter, Susan Ashton and others. In addition to over a decade of mainstream pop success, Mann seeks balance for his own musical interests and has produced, and sometimes Executive Produced, albums that range from the critically acclaimed Art Garfunkel Trio album to Seventeen Magazine's Indie Music Compilation, released on Mann's label, Cred. Records.

Billy Mann's talent as a multi-genre writer/producer is underscored by the diversity of the artists with whom he works, a list which includes:

Matt Lauer of the Today show has described Billy Mann as the producer/writer who helps artists find their voice.

Mann is also a highly regarded artist whose sophomore album Earthbound was voted the #1 album of the year in 1998 by NPR/PRI's national radio show, The World Café. In addition to his writing and production work, Mann owns a successful management and development company (Stealth Entertainment), several publishing companies and a record label (Cred. Records). He is published as a music columnist devoted to exposing new indie artists (Seventeen Magazine), and has several interests in new media companies. Happily married with two children, Mann resides in the New York area.
