Billy Reeves
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Billy Reeves is a songwriter and producer who prior to founding the London-based indie-band theaudience in 1996, (featuring Sophie Ellis Bextor on vocals) started out with cult Egham-based punkpathetique band T.B.A.G. in 1979.
The band quickly established itself in the Camden scene of '97. They scored two top 30 (UK) hits ('A Pessimist Is Never Disappointed' and 'I Know Enough') and a top twenty (UK) eponymous album before splitting after a disastrous Glastonbury '98 performance.
Reeves signed to Sony Records with a new act ('Yours') in 1999. He also ran the club which provided the Darkness with their first London show. His performing career was cut short by injuries sustained in a near fatal car accident in 2001.
Reeves has since reinvented himself as a travel presenter on BBC London 94.9.
