Billy McMullen (born March 8, 1980 in Richmond, Virginia) is a National Football League wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings. He was a 3rd round draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2003. McMullen scored his first NFL touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on December 24, 2005. His relative lack of speed has made it difficult for McMullen to often gain separation from NFL defensive backs. Even in college, most of his receptions covered short yardage and were the result of his outstanding technique instead of beating defensive backs with speed.
He was traded to the Vikings on May 18, 2006 in return for Hank Baskett, an undrafted rookie receiver. In Minnesota he will be reunited with new head coach Brad Childress, his Offensive Coordinator in Philadelphia.
