Billy Cardine

Bill Cardine is a resophonic guitar player from Virginia. Billy’s toured with the Larry Keel Experience, performed with Leftover Salmon, and members of The Seldom Scene, The Newgrass Revival, The Country Gentlemen, Acoustic Syndicate and Alvin Breeden & the Virginia Cutups. He currently plays with The Biscuit Burners.
Billy (Bill) Cardine has studied resophonic guitar under Mike Auldrigde, Rob Ickes, and Randy Kohrs. He currently studies slide guitar under Debashish Bhattacharya, who also serves as Cardine's guru.
Cardine released a solo album, Organically Grown #94060, in 2001 on Indidog Records. In 2003, Cardine joined The Biscuit Burners, with Mary Lucey, Shannon Whitworth, Jon Stickley and Dan Bletz. The Biscuit Burners released their self-titled album in 2004. This album was chosen by the Chicago Tribune as one of the Top Bluegrass albums of 2004. Their second album, A Mountain Apart, was released in 2005. Cardine produced both of these albums. In 2006, Billy took part in the Edgar Meyer Pourous Borders of Music Program, which was a weeklong workshop that culminated into a performance at Carnegie Hall.
