Billy Ashcroft

Billy Ashcroft (born October 1, 1952 in Liverpool) is a retired football (soccer) player from England, who could play as a central defender or as a striker. He made his League debut for Middlesbrough FC on September 3, 1977 in a 2-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion, after having served Wrexham A.F.C. for seven years. Ashcroft was transferred to FC Twente in the Netherlands in 1982, where he stayed for three years, and then moved to Tranmere Rovers F.C..
