Billy (musical)

Billy is a West End musical based on the novel and play Billy Liar by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall. The book was written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, the music was by John Barry, and the lyrics were by Don Black. It starred Michael Crawford in the title role, and other actors in the show included Bryan Pringle, Avis Bunnage, Christopher Hancock, Billy Boyle, Diana Quick, Gay Soper, and Elaine Page. The production had choreography by Onna White and was directed by Patrick Garland. The show opened on the West End at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, on May 1, 1974.
