Billy-Montigny is a commune of northern France. Population (1999): 8,449.

Billy-Montigny is located in the Pas-de-Calais département. It belongs to the communauté d'agglomération of Lens-Liévin (Communaupole) which gathers 36 communes, with a total population of 250,000 inhabitants.

The history of the area remains marked by the mining disaster which caused 1,099 casualties on March 10, 1906 on the territories of Billy-Montigny, Méricourt and Sallaumines.

In the Town cemetery lie the bodies of two WWI British soldiers. 1. Paget, Private, George Thomas. 37915 18th Bn. Welsh Regiment. Died of wounds 19th July 1916. Aged 17. Billy-Montigny Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France Grave No. 2.
