Billie Reed first came to Salem in 1992 as a professional singer, but her cocaine addiction ruined that opportunity. Billie believed her father as dead and had never known her mother. Her only relative in Salem was her brother Austin Reed. Luckily, Carrie Brady befriended her and gave Billie a place to stay. It took awhile before Billie could get clean and rid her life of past demons.

Eventually, Billie decided to turn her life around and started her own cosmetics company, Countess Wilhelmina. Kate Roberts bought out Countess Wilhelmina to spite Billie. Later that year, Billie befriended Tony DiMera. He bought up 49% of Titan Industries and then brought Billie in to run the Countess Wilhelmina division.

Billie's father Curtis Reed, who had been presumed dead, returned. Curtis was no father of the year. He had gotten Billie addicted to drugs as a young girl and raped her. He was eventually murdered and Billie was arrested for killing him. However, Billie refused to tell Bo Brady how she knew Curtis and she made her brother, Austin, keep quiet. Billie thought that if Bo learned the truth, he wouldn't love her. But Bo had fallen in love with Billie and was determined to prove that she was innocent.

Billie and Austin were both shocked when they learned Kate was married to Curtis Reed. Eventually Billie admitted that Curtis was her father. Stefano DiMera had killed Curtis in self-defense and framed Billie. Billie was let go and Bo told her that he loved her no matter what. Billie and Austin were also reunited with Kate, the mother they thought abandoned them. Kate told them that Curtis had taken them from her and she believed they had all been killed in a car crash.

Bo and Billie tried to marry on New Year's Day, but the "Desecrator" struck and a falling chandelier almost killed them. They tried again, but learned that they could not marry if there was any chance that a lady by the name of Gina turned out to be Hope Brady. In order to help them, Gina signed a paper declaring that Hope was dead and Bo and Billie were finally married. When Gina was eventually proven to be Hope, Billie realized that Bo had not given his marriage to Hope a fair shot, so she left Salem in 1995 to let them be together.

Billie returned a year later in 1996 and moved into the Kiriakis Mansion. She began to date Franco Kelly, which upset Bo. Bo insisted Franco was dangerous, but Hope accused him of being jealous. Hope grew fed up with Bo's obsession with Franco and told Bo that she couldn't marry him if he still had feelings for Billie.

Billie, meanwhile, discovered that she was pregnant with Bo's child. Bo told her that he would be there for her and the baby. She followed Bo and Hope to New Orleans and then into the bayou where she went into labor. Her baby girl, who she named Georgia, was stillborn. Bo helped Billie get over the loss of their baby; however, he told her that he still loved Hope and wanted to make a life with her. Billie was outraged and left town again in 1999.

Hope's disdain for Billie only grew over time. When Billie returned to Salem in 2002 and joined the police force, it only got worse. Billie swore her motives were pure and not to create more trouble for Bo & Hope. She then left again in early 2003.

When Bo helped rescue the victims of the Salem Stalker, he bumped into Billie on the mysterious island. Together they helped rescue the others, and upon their return to Salem, Billie made the shocking discovery that their daughter Georgia, whom she thought had died in childbirth, was still alive! In fact, she was Chelsea Benson, one of Abby Deveraux's friends. When Chelsea's adoptive parents were killed in a car accident, Billie revealed the truth and had Chelsea move in with her.

Hope was not thrilled by yet another link between Billie & Bo, but tried to remain supportive. However, when Bo & Hope's son Zack was killed in a car accident, everyone soon learned that Chelsea was the driver, and thus responsible. Billie was desperate to protect Chelsea and Bo was torn between the two women in his life. At one point, Billie made it appear that Bo had slept with her in a hotel and arranged for Hope to discover this "truth." Billie deeply regretted this and admitted to it in court when Hope tried to divorce Bo.

Billie has repeatedly stated she believes Bo and Hope belong together and will not try to get back with Bo, against Chelsea's wishes. Recently, she found herself involved with another man who was not exactly available: Steve "Patch" Johnson. Steve felt very pressured by Kayla's hopes that he would remember their past, and he rebelled by starting to see Billie. Currently, Steve and Kayla have been poisoned and are in the hospital, and Billie doesn't want the Brady family to see her as trying to break up another Brady couple.

While she was drunk, she had sex with teenager Nick Fallon, who has developed strong feelings for her daughter Chelsea.

[edit] Trivia

  • Billie's real name is not Billie Holliday Reed. When Curtis took the children, he changed their names to prevent Kate from finding them. All that is known is that her original surname was Brown.[1]
  • Billie and Chelsea once resided at 890 Whitley Street in Salem, USA (zip code 06642).[2] The mother and daughter have now moved into Billie's brother, Lucas Roberts' apartment after Bonnie Lockhart threw them out after her son Patrick Lockhart went to prison and Conner Lockhart returned to town.
